Silica Sand Filter Media
Silica Sand is a naturally occurring material, hard, durable, dense grains, of minimum 98% siliceous material, and free of dust, clay, and micaceous and organic matter.
Sand is washed, dried, and sieved to standard grain sizes that meet or exceed international standards such as AWWA B100 and / or EN12904 – Type 1.
Silica Sand is an inert material, its physical and chemical properties do not change due to environmental conditions; therefore, using Sand as filter medium ensures reliable operation and cost-effective solution. Sand is used in mono or a second layer of dual or multimedia filters, its relative low density good layers separation and higher solid retention within upper layers of filter media.
