Garnet Filter Media
Garnet is mined from almandite garnet deposits, it is chemically inert, a naturally occurring mineral known for its high density, high hardness and chemical resistance. Garnet filter media high density ensures that it remains beneath sand layer after backwash, its high chemical insolubility makes it ideal filter media.
Small grain Garnet filter media is used as polishing layer; it is used in multimedia filters where high removal rates are required to protect downstream process units. Coarse grain Garnet can be used as a good replacement of support gravel due to its high density, nonetheless a coarser gravel layer may be needed if coarse Garnet size will blind off filter floor filter water pass.
Garnet Filter Media is produced in accordance with standard EN12910.
